Round table on citizens' mobility called "Accessibility of high quality health care as a condition to the free movement of citizens within the European Union" was held on the 14th of June 2007 in the European Parliament under the patronage of MUDr. Milan Cabrnoch.

On 10 May 2006 Dr. Cabrnoch participate on international eHealth Conference held in Málaga, Spain. He presented his speech called "Better Communication: A Way to Better Health" on the workshop "eHealth in an enlarged Europe: A universe of opportunities". On Wednesday the 13th of September 2005, a seminar devoted to the problems of oncology in the member states of the European Union took place in the premises of the European Parliament. I gladly accepted the patronage over the seminar as well as participation in its organization.

On the 21st and 22nd of June, 2005, I have taken part in the European Conference on rare diseases. According to the World Health Organization, rare diseases are those diseases that affect less than one out of every 2000 EU citizens. Altogether, there are approximately 6 to 7 thousand different diseases in this category. Therefore, in all the EU nations, about 230,000 patients live with each one particular rare disease, and altogether approximately 30 million people suffer from at least one of these rare diseases.

It is a real personal pleasure to join AmCham EU in welcoming over 100 Members of the European Parliament here tonight. It is also very special for me to greet MEPs from the 2004 enlargement as we went from 15 countries to 25. Enlargement is a bold and important move that provides wonderful opportunity for the EU and makes the EU an even greater global force. Congratulations to each member of the European Parliament, new and returning, as you embrace the opportunities this important new era affords you and those you represent.
