MUDr. Milan Cabrnoch

Member of the European Parliament

Milan Cabrnoch is Doctor of Medicine, pediatrician. From 1994 to 1997 he worked as Director of Health insurance Department of Ministry of Health and in 1998 as Deputy Minister of Health for Health Insurance and Legislative area.

As a member of the Czech Parliament (1998-2004) he worked as chairman of the Subcommittee for drug policy and refund of medical care, the vice-chairman of the Committee for social policy and healthcare service. Since 2004 Dr. Milan Cabrnoch has been Member of the European Parliament and works in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.

Milan Cabrnoch has been constantly engaged in the field of health systems and health care organizations. He is a co-author of the Health Concept of the Civic Democratic Party.

Presently he pursues mainly the patients' awareness and eHealth. Milan Cabrnoch is a co-author of the IZIP project (electronic record health system) that has won World Summit Award 2005 as the best eHealth project.
